Five-Year Plan
My academic goal in the next two years
is to achieve my master of accountancy here and pass the Certified Public
Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) exams. One year from
now, I will complete my undergraduate study with a duel degree of accountancy
and finance. Then I will continue with my study focusing on the accountancy
master program. I hope that in two years from now, I will graduate from U of I
with two bachelors and one master degree, while still maintain my James
Scholarship status.
My short-term career goal is to become a public accountant in one of the Big Four accounting firms. I do not like nine-five routine jobs, instead, I traveling is more desirable for me. I like my job to be full of new things and challenges so that I can learn something different every day. After working as an entry-level associate accountant for two years, my next goal is to become a senior associate. I expect myself fit into the American culture and enjoy working with the most diversified and talented people in the world. My ultimate career goal is to work in the consulting field, helping clients realizing problems and providing business solutions. The background in public accounting will qualify me as an excellent future consultant.

Ending: Thank you Mulu!
The
Illinois Leadership Certificate Program has been helping me significantly in my
way of leadership growth. Being with the program for the two years, I have
developed good relationship with my Mentor, Mulu Ferede. I especially want to
thank Mulu for taking time meeting me every week. He has given me so much
support and directions on my school life. Not only have I learned a lot about
his leadership experience, but also gained so much insight of how to become a
good leader like him. He is more than just a mentor to me; I would rather say
we have become life-long good friends. I really appreciate the opportunity of
being paired up with such an excellent mentor to aid me on my leadership
development. After graduate with my Illinois Leadership Certificate, I will continue develop my leadership skills and contribute to a more positive future.
